City of Kimball Power Plant
"Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much" - Helen Keller Homepagecontact usPower Plant
The Kimball Municipal Power Plant produced all the power for the City of Kimball until 1980. In the summer of 1980, the City began buying power from outside sources and the plant stopped running 24-7. It is important to note that the plant is still capable of producing enough power for the entire city. The plant is an 8 megawatt generation plant and is currently on a standby or emergency use policy. In the event of a power shortage the plant will provide the power that is needed.
